P R I N C I P A L S
S. Rhett Gist
Rhett is a 1979 graduate of Texas A&M University, with B.S. degrees in Petroleum Engineering and Geology and a M.S. in Petroleum Engineering. Rhett consulted as a Reservoir Engineer from 1981 to 1991. He has also been a General Partner of several privately funded acquisition companies. He has participated in oil and gas acquisition since 1991. He is a registered professional engineer in the State of Texas and a member of the Society of Professional Evaluation Engineers.
B. Cutler Gist
Cutler is a 2003 graduate of Texas Tech University with a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering. He has worked for Magnum Hunter Resources, Cimarex Energy and a privately funded acquisition company. Cutler has been building his technical knowledge of the mineral and royalty industry over the last two decades. He is a senior member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers and Society for Engineering and Management Systems. Cutler established Montego Minerals in 2007.
Janice Gist
Janice graduated from Texas A&M University in 1980 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. She has been responsible for the management and oversight of oil and gas investments, royalties, cash flow and accounting for Montego Minerals. She is a General Partner of Montego Minerals, LP and a member of the Texas Independent Producers and Royalty Owners Association.

Monty J. Gist
Monty is a 1956 graduate of Oklahoma State University with a B.S. in Geology. He has worked for Humble Oil and Refining (now ExxonMobil) and also for several independent oil and gas companies as an exploration geologist. Monty has been an independent Geologist since the late 1970's. He is a Certified Petroleum Geologist and a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and the West Texas Geological Society. He is also on the School of Geology Advisory Board at Oklahoma State University. Monty has extensive geological knowledge of the Permian Basin.

Angus Baker
In 2003 Angus left his career as a professional golfer and was recruited to the world of sales based on his ability to communicate and educate people. He became the top account executive for several Dallas based companies focusing on delivering a cash on cash yield to the investment community through the investment of oil and gas royalty and mineral interest. With over 15 years of experience he is one of the countries leading educators on oil and gas royalties and minerals. His experience has allowed him to be directly involved in close to a billion dollars divested into a relatively unknown asset class. Angus has helped over 3,000 investors strengthen their investment portfolio and continues share this knowledge at Montego as the Chief Information Officer since January of 2017.
Sean Caldwell
Sean graduated from the University of North Texas where he studied Entrepreneurship and Business Management. Since 2010, Sean has been building his technical knowledge of the oil and gas mineral and royalty industry. Having experience on both the acquisitions and capital funding arms for several privately held energy firms, Sean has become a great resource to accredited investors across the country looking to access institutional grade royalty assets without the institutional minimums. Mr. Caldwell has successfully offered and funded nearly one billion in royalty property over the last decade. Sean brings a strong understanding of 1031 exchange eligible structures and strategies to the Montego Mineral programs. He has worked with more than 20,000 financial advisors over the years looking to diversify client assets away from traditional brick and mortar real estate and into minerals through both cash and 1031 proceeds. In his spare time, Sean enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf and ice hockey.

Brittany Schmitt
Brittany Pickle Schmitt graduated from Texas Christian University summa cum laude in 2011, with a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design. She has spent the last 8 years gaining extensive experience at highly recognized design firms in the DFW area, specializing in brand and marketing strategy. She has been continually recognized both regionally and nationally by Print Magazine and the Dallas Society of Visual Communications. She now leads the Montego team as Executive Director of Investor Relations, focusing on investor communication, brand management, and marketing strategy.

Christi Giroir
Christi is a native of Beaumont Texas, Christi moved to Midland in 2012 with extensive financial experience in the oil and gas industry through working at Exxon Mobil and several refineries. She came to Montego Minerals from Baker Hughes as a Financial Analyst and has been with the company since October 2014.

Leah Jones
Leah is an Army Veteran and a native of Midland Tx. She has a degree in Business Management from Odessa College and is continuing her education. Leah has worked in the oil and gas industry since 2002 in the accounting and financial departments of service companies including Baker Hughes and Halliburton to operating companies including Oxy.
Penny Parten
Penny has over 30 years of experience in Exploration and Production Accounting. Penny graduated UTPB in 1987 with a BBA in Business Administration, Management. She went on to obtain her Accredited Petroleum Accountant Certification from the Council of Petroleum Accountants Societies (COPAS) in 1996. She held various managerial roles over the last 12 years at Whiting Petroleum, Atlantic Resources, and Victerra Energy. She has also held numerous local and national COPAS leadership positions including serving on the National APA Board of Examiners and the COPAS Board of Directors.
