S. Rhett Gist
Rhett is a 1979 graduate of Texas A&M University, with B.S. degrees in Petroleum Engineering and Geology and a M.S. in Petroleum Engineering. Rhett consulted as a Reservoir Engineer from 1981 to 1991. He has also been a General Partner of several privately funded acquisition companies. He has participated in oil and gas acquisition since 1991. He is a registered professional engineer in the State of Texas and a member of the Society of Professional Evaluation Engineers.
B. Cutler Gist
Cutler is a 2003 graduate of Texas Tech University with a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering. He has worked for Magnum Hunter Resources, Cimarex Energy and a privately funded acquisition company. He is a senior member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers and Society for Engineering and Management Systems. Cutler established Montego Minerals in 2007.
Monty J. Gist is a 1956 graduate of Oklahoma State University with a B.S. in Geology. He has worked for Humble Oil and Refining (now ExxonMobil) and also for several independent oil and gas companies as an exploration geologist. Monty has been an independent Geologist since the late 1970’s. He is a Certified Petroleum Geologist and a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and the West Texas Geological Society. He is also on the School of Geology Advisory Board at Oklahoma State University. Monty has extensive geological knowledge of the Permian Basin.
Janice is graduated from Texas A&M University in 1980 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. She has been responsible for the management and oversight of oil and gas investments, royalties, cash flow and accounting for Montego Minerals. She is a General Partner of Montego Minerals, LP and a member of the Texas Independent Producers and Royalty Owners Association.
Christi is a native of Beaumont Texas, Christi moved to Midland in 2012 with extensive financial experience in the oil and gas industry through working at Exxon Mobil and several refineries. She came to Montego Minerals from Baker Hughes as a Financial Analyst and has been with the company since October 2014.
Tom is a 1972 graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso with a B.A. degree in Accounting. He received his CPA license in 1990. Tom has worked in the Permian Basin in the oil and gas industry since 1978. He has been the Tax Manager, Controller and CFO for several independent oil and gas companies headquartered in Midland, TX. He is a member of the Texas Society of Public Accountants.
Angus Baker is Montego Mineral’s Chief Information Officer.
After attending the University of Texas at El Paso where he studied Business Management and participated on the men’s golf team. He spent the next eight years trying to reach his lifelong goal of becoming to be a PGA Golf Professional. He was a member of many tours around the world and played in more than 300 professional golf tournaments. After retiring in 1992 on the announcement of his first child, he established himself in the private golf club business as a leading golf instructor in the DFW area teaching over 20,000 golf lessons over the next 13 years.
In 2003 he was recruited to the world of sales based on his ability to communicate and educate people. The asset class he began to study was the business of oil and gas. His experience has allowed him to be directly involved in close to a billion dollars divested into an asset class that very few knew anything about. Angus has educated over 3000 investors and today continues to help clients to understand the different opportunities that the oil and gas business can offer.
